Real estate lead generation websites on WordPress, built around content and enquiries

We build WordPress websites for real estate businesses that depend on enquiries. Listings from your IDX plugin appear inside relevant articles and landing pages, profiles of the lenders, appraisers and other providers you feature are structured content your team updates, and each form records the page, listing or profile behind an enquiry before it reaches your CRM.

What we do

Norml builds the WordPress side of a real estate lead website: templates for articles, landing pages and provider profiles, IDX listings placed in that content, a form for each type of enquiry and its handoff to your CRM. The work can start on a new install or on the WordPress site and plugins you already have.

What a real estate lead website involves

We start by mapping the enquiry paths: what a buyer, a seller or a reader of an article can ask, which form takes the question and who answers it. The parts below can be built together or added one at a time to an existing WordPress site.

Enquiry paths and page map

A page map listing every enquiry type, such as a question about a listing, a home-value request, a landing-page offer or a message for a listed provider, with its form, fields and recipient. It is agreed before any template is built.

IDX listings inside your content

Your IDX plugin stays the source of listing data. We add a block that places a set of listings, such as one area or price range, in an article or landing page, keep the attribution and disclaimers your feed requires, and check that each listing opens a detail page with a way to ask about it.

Articles that point to an offer

Article and category templates for market updates, area guides and news, each with a field for the landing page or offer it should send readers to. Editors publish articles and choose that next step without touching the layout.

Direct-response landing pages

Landing page templates assembled from reusable sections: the offer, its details, an enquiry form and optional listings. A new campaign page reuses approved sections, so it needs no new design or code.

Provider profiles with Advanced Custom Fields

A profile type for the providers you feature, such as lenders, title agents, appraisers, inspectors and contractors, with fields for category, service area, photo, description and where enquiries go. A profile is written once and can appear in the directory and on related articles.

Forms and CRM handoff

A form for each enquiry type, built in the form plugin you use, that captures where the enquiry started and passes it to your CRM or inbox with agreed fields, tags and an owner. Follow-up sequences then run in your CRM.

Browsing and enquiry tests

A written test record covering listing pages and filters on desktop and phone, every form type, and the arrival of each test enquiry in your CRM with the right source and owner. It is run on staging and again on the live site.

What we need from you

WordPress and hosting access

An administrator account on the WordPress site and a collaborator invitation to your hosting account, plus the staging copy your host provides, if it offers one.

Your IDX account

The IDX provider and plugin you use, access to its dashboard, and any display rules your MLS sets for listings shown on your site.

Form plugin and CRM

Access to the form plugin and a user in your CRM, with the fields, tags, owners and pipeline stages each enquiry type should use.

Who answers what

Who answers each enquiry type, and whether a message sent through a provider profile goes to you, to the provider or to both.

Provider list and approved details

The provider categories you want to show, plus each provider's approved description, photo and contact details.

Offers and existing content

The offers your landing pages will promote, such as a buyer guide or a home-value request, plus any articles, copy and brand files you already have.

One approver

One person who signs off the enquiry paths, the profile fields and the test record before launch.

How a real estate lead website build runs

  1. Review and enquiry map

We review the current site, plugins and CRM, then agree the page map, the content types and every enquiry path with its form and recipient.

  2. Templates and fields

Article, landing page, profile and listing-block templates are agreed as wireframes or designs, together with the editing fields behind each one.

  3. Build on staging

We build the templates, profile type, listing block and forms on a staging copy and send test enquiries to a test pipeline or tagged test records in your CRM.

  4. Path tests and approval

Your approver follows the main buyer, seller and provider paths on staging while we run the test record, and nothing goes live before sign-off.

  5. Launch and handover

At launch we repeat the enquiry tests on the live site, delete the test entries in your CRM and show your team how to publish articles, landing pages and profiles.

Let's chat

“I've spent 10 years working across development and marketing. I started as a developer, but design, SEO and advertising were already part of the job. That taught me to treat a website as one system: the business, the content, the design and the code have to work together. At Norml, I lead the architecture behind our work and stay involved wherever strategy, design, development and search meet.”

Questions

Can you work with the IDX and form plugins we already have?
Usually, yes. We check that each plugin is maintained and licensed for your site, then build around it. A plugin is replaced only when it blocks an agreed enquiry path, and we explain what changes first. Listing data stays with your IDX provider either way.
Can providers edit their own profiles?
They can, but self-editing adds user accounts, permissions and an approval step before a change goes live, so we scope it separately. The simpler setup is a profile your team updates in the WordPress admin with the details each provider sends.
Can the site take seller leads as well as buyer questions?
Yes. A seller path, such as a home-value request, asks for property details over a few short steps and reaches your CRM as its own enquiry type with its own owner. An instant valuation tool is a separate feature, because it needs its own data source and rules.
How do you test listings if our IDX account only works on the live domain?
Some IDX accounts serve listings only on an approved domain. We ask your provider to approve the staging address; if that is not possible, the listing checks run on the live site right after launch, before campaigns send traffic to the new pages.
Do we need a CRM before the site launches?
No. Enquiries can arrive by email, and the form plugin can keep a copy of each entry in WordPress. When you choose a CRM later, the existing form fields are mapped to it, so the forms themselves stay as they are.
What falls outside this work?
Paid advertising, SEO campaigns and ongoing article writing are separate arrangements. MLS feeds and property search are not our specialist focus: they stay with your IDX provider, and if search is the core of what you need, a listings platform is the better fit. Brokerage and license disclosures come from you, and we place the wording your brokerage approves.
Each case study covers the starting point, what we built and what changed after launch.
