BigCommerce to Shopify migration

Move your BigCommerce store into Shopify with the catalog rules and sales channels accounted for. Norml maps products, customers, and agreed order history, then rebuilds the storefront and operational connections. Particular attention goes to product modifiers, customer pricing, and multiple storefronts, where a direct field transfer may not reproduce the way the store works.

What the migration covers

The scope begins with your BigCommerce edition, catalog structure, and selling rules. We verify the Shopify destination before selecting the data-transfer route.

Variants, modifiers and categories

We distinguish inventory-bearing variants from product modifiers such as personalization or add-ons. Categories get an agreed Shopify collection structure, while additional data receives a defined destination field. Sample products verify choices, price adjustments, SKUs, stock, and images together.

Customer groups and price rules

Customer groups, price lists, bulk pricing, and business accounts require an explicit Shopify compatibility review. We document the required price a buyer should see and the conditions behind it. The chosen plan, configuration, or apps must demonstrate that behavior before launch.

Orders and storefront relationships

We agree the historical records to keep, map customer associations, and retain source identifiers for reconciliation. Multi-storefront setups need a separate channel and domain plan. A consolidated catalog must not accidentally make a restricted product visible in the wrong market or storefront.

Theme, connections and redirects

We rebuild the storefront and map required shipping, accounting, search, review, and marketing connections. Redirects cover changed product and category paths. The final move includes stock changes and outstanding orders so fulfillment ownership stays clear during the switch.

What we need before the move

Catalog and operating access

We need BigCommerce access, the channel and integration inventory, the Shopify destination, and domain ownership details. Provide examples of product modifiers, customer-specific prices, and exceptional orders rather than only ordinary catalog rows.

Destination feature decisions

A Shopify import is not proof of equivalent B2B, discount, or checkout behavior. We check the required features against the selected plan and apps. Passwords, payment credentials, active subscriptions, and credit balances need separate transition decisions.

How we prepare the move

  1. Map records and rules

Document products, modifier behavior, categories, customer pricing, and storefront assignments. Agree the retained history and the destination behavior for each material exception.

  2. Prove a representative catalog

Import samples and configure the storefront. Review product choices, signed-in pricing where included, customer associations, and an order that exercises the important shipping or discount rules.

  3. Reconcile and launch

Test the agreed purchase and fulfillment paths. Reconcile final order and inventory changes, activate the domain and redirects, then confirm that each intended storefront and channel shows the right content.

Questions about the migration

How do categories and price lists move?
Categories are mapped into Shopify’s collection and navigation model. Price lists need a supported destination pricing approach, which depends on the required buyer rules and chosen Shopify setup. We test the result rather than assuming the names mean the same thing.
Can B2B customer terms be retained?
We review the specific terms, company relationships, permissions, and payment workflow. Supported behavior can be included after that assessment; a generic customer CSV does not establish B2B feature parity.
What happens to product modifiers?
We identify which choices affect a stock-tracked variant and which are shopper-entered information or add-ons. Each needs an appropriate destination representation. The sample storefront confirms what the buyer can select and what reaches the order.
Share your current website, the features you rely on, and what needs to change. We will review the Shopify requirements and identify the content, rebuild work, and launch checks your move needs.
