Squarespace to WooCommerce migration

Build a WooCommerce store using your Squarespace catalog, with WordPress control over product pages and the buying flow. Norml maps the available commerce records, rebuilds the storefront, and configures the agreed payment and shipping tools. Missing export fields and ongoing subscriptions are identified before the new store is populated.

What the migration covers

This page covers the store: products, order records, purchase behavior, and the WordPress setup that supports them. Marketing pages can be included in the agreed site inventory.

Catalog and variation mapping

We map physical and service products into suitable WooCommerce product types, then reconcile SKUs, prices, stock, and variations. Squarespace’s CSV omits details including variant images and additional product information. We list those gaps and restore agreed assets and content separately.

Customer and order history

We inspect the available customer and order exports, agree what to retain, and select an import route suited to the destination. Historical records are checked for dates, totals, and customer association. Importing an old order must not send a new purchase email or start fulfillment again.

WordPress storefront and checkout

Product templates, category pages, cart, checkout, and account views are built for WooCommerce. We agree the required fields and supporting store pages, then configure appropriate extensions. Squarespace layouts and commerce settings are reviewed as references, not treated as installed WordPress functionality.

Hosting and store handoff

The scope covers hosting readiness, payment and shipping configuration, notifications, redirects, and the final data reconciliation. Your team gets instructions for editing products and managing orders, with ownership agreed for backups, updates, and ongoing store maintenance.

What we need before the move

Source records and business rules

Provide Squarespace commerce access, original product files, shipping requirements, domain ownership, and WordPress hosting access. Include examples of refunds, discounts, variations, and products with special delivery or access rules.

Recurring billing and digital access

Subscriptions, memberships, gift-card balances, and downloadable entitlements need their own feasibility review. A catalog export does not carry recurring payment authorization. We agree the provider-supported transition and any customer action before changing the old store.

How we prepare the move

  1. Review the commerce export

Compare exported fields with live products and the operational workflow. Record missing content, retained history, required extensions, and any offers that need separate treatment.

  2. Build and trial the store

Create a representative WooCommerce product and checkout path. Import sample customer or order data where included, and compare results against the source before running the full transfer.

  3. Verify and switch

Test the approved payment, shipping, account, and notification paths. Reconcile recent records and inventory, connect the domain, and check public products, redirects, and the store-management handoff.

Questions about the migration

How is this different from a WordPress website migration?
The focus here is selling: catalog structure, cart, checkout, customers, and order operations. The Squarespace-to-WordPress website service focuses on content pages and their editing system. Both can form part of one agreed project.
Can order history and subscriptions move?
Order-history import depends on the source fields and selected tool. Subscriptions also involve billing permissions and destination subscription software. We assess them separately and do not treat a copied order as a transferred payment agreement.
Will every product image appear automatically?
No. Squarespace documents omissions in its product CSV, including variant images. We compare the export with the storefront, gather the required originals, and check that the correct images appear against the correct WooCommerce variations.
Share your current website, the features you rely on, and what needs to change. We will review the WooCommerce requirements and identify the content, rebuild work, and launch checks your move needs.
